Universidad de Santiago former students develop first Chilean electric motorcycle

  • A team made up of alumni and students at Universidad de Santiago developed the first 100% Chilean high-performance low-cost electric motorcycle.

 

Two-wheeled vehicles have become important in large cities because they have been considered as a sustainable means of transport. Electric motorcycles, for example, stand out for their low-cost, their efficiency and their friendly relation with the environment.

Medicine students develop 3D-printed human tissues for educational use

  •  Ignacio Toledo and Jaime Padilla, both students at the Medicine program of Universidad de Santiago de Chile, with the support of professors Mónica Osses and Carlos Godoy, developed three-dimensional models for educational use in the Histology field.

 

Students at Universidad de Santiago de Chile are competing at the Taipei 2017 Universiade

  •  The competition gathers university athletes from all over the world. Threes students at Universidad de Santiago de Chile are part of the Chilean team: Sebastián Román Aravena (table tennis); Felipe Castillo Toro (volleyball) and Nicolás Dagnino Thayer (track and field). Professor Isabel Castillo Barrera, coach of the University’s table tennis team, is part of the sports delegation too.

 

 

Student at the Faculty of Administration and Economics wins Walmart’s Innova Challenge

  • Fernanda Santibáñez, a fifth-year student at the Commercial Engineering program of Universidad de Santiago, presented an innovative proposal to bring the national brand Lider closer to Chilean consumers. The winner of the contest will travel to Sao Paulo to visit the e-commerce office of Walmart Brazil.

     

    In May this year, Walmart ran a workshop for students at the Faculty of Administration and Economics of Universidad de Santiago de Chile to prepare them for the Innova Challenge contest 2017.

Chilean President officially opens Universidad de Santiago’s Law School

In her speech, the Chilean President Michelle Bachelet highlighted that Universidad de Santiago is a space that promotes dialogue and trains leaders, focused on the historical processes of our society and fully committed to our country.

 

Universidad de Santiago de Chile officially opened its new Law School in a ceremony headed by the Chilean President Michelle Bachelet Jeria; the President of Universidad de Santiago, Dr Juan Manuel Zolezzi Cid, and the Dean of the new School, Roberto Nahum Anuch.

Students at Universidad de Santiago will participate in the National Model United Nations NY 2017 Conference

  • The activity will gather more than 5,000 university students from all over the world to replicate the debate model of the committees of diplomats from the 193 UN member states.

 

 

Twenty-two students of Universidad de Santiago are finishing their training to participate in the National Model United Nations (NMUN NY 2017) Conference that will be held between March 19th- 23rd at the UN headquarters, New York, USA.

ESUS Solar Energy Team will implement solar modules in the campus next year

  • In its third public account, the ESUS Solar Energy Team referred to the big challenges that they faced during 2016: the Atacama Solar Challenge and the high possibility that the team has of winning the Construye Solar 2017 contest with the Casa Temperie. Among the challenges for 2017, they mentioned the initiative to build solar modules in the campus and their participation in the Sasol Solar Challenge 2018, in South Africa.

     

Foreign students value human and academic quality of Universidad de Santiago very highly

     A total of 129 students from different countries like Mexico, Germany, France; Argentina, Colombia, Spain, Brazil, Canada, Bolivia, Uruguay and Belgium spent this semester at Universidad de Santiago through its student exchange program. They all agree that the academic excellence and social responsibility are the university’s hallmarks.

 

 

Students at the Architecture program won Alacero international competition

  • The team formed by Hugo Tello, Rodrigo Aliaga, Pablo Becerra and Javier Rojas, all of them 5th year students at the Architecture program of Universidad de Santiago, won the Alacero international competition. More than 700 students from different countries in Latin America participated in the 2016 version of the Contest that was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

 

 

Despega Usach contest recognizes innovators

  • Five innovative projects led by students at Universidad de Santiago provide answers to different problems in the areas of health, earthquake engineering, environment protection and food. Now these projects will be developed at the Stanford Research Institute, USA, where the students will travel for an internship period.
