Senegalese percussion and dance group performed at Universidad de Santiago de Chile

  • The African group’s folkloric music show attracted the attention of the university community at the facilities of the School of Arts and Crafts. They performed a broad repertoire that included ritual and everyday music. 


Many students gathered spontaneously at the yard of the School of Arts and Crafts to see the performance of the Senegalese music group Sonidos de África (Sounds of Africa).

Italian Ambassador opens opera course given by IDEA and the Italian Culture Institute

  • The Outreach and Engagement Unit of the Institute for Advanced Studies of Universidad de Santiago de Chile, together with the Italian Cultural Institute, started their cultural program for 2016 with the opening of the course “Introduction to Opera”.


All set for Marathon Reading of Don Quixote

  • With a marathon reading of Don Quixote, a masterpiece in the canon of world literature, Universidad the Santiago will take part in the World Book and Copyright day celebration. On this date, the death of Miguel de Cervantes, the author of this brilliant creation, is commemorated every year.

Extraordinary participation of youngsters in the Universidad de Santiago’s Book Route 2015

  • On Saturday 11th, more than 600 youngsters participated in the board game convention that opened the fifth version of the Book Route organized by the Library System of Universidad de Santiago. This year the activity is devoted to Fantastic Literature, which is related to popular role-playing games

Universidad de Santiago orchestra takes part in tribute to 450th anniversary of Shakespeare’s birth

  • Our orchestra performed under the direction of the renowned conductor Bill Barclay in the “Romeo and Juliet” concerts given at the Croata Park, in Antofagasta on November 15t, and at the Inés de Suárez Park, in Providencia, Santiago, on November 16th.
