Infantilization of Autism: Translation Students Pioneer New Study
Fourth-year students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Applied Linguistics for English-Japanese Translation at the University of Santiago, Chile (Usach) have completed pioneering thesis research on the infantilization of autistic adults.
Earning the highest academic distinction, this thesis project exposes widespread linguistic bias in materials on adult autism, both their discursive construction and their translation into Spanish.
