Historic FAHU-Led Conference Elevates Chile's Role in Philosophy

Hosting the tenth Annual Conference of the International Association for the Philosophy of Time (IAPT) from July 7-9, the University of Santiago, Chile, established itself as a global hub for the subject. The three-day event, which took place at the Center for Postgraduate Studies and Continuing Education (Cepec), gathered leading specialists to explore the nature, perception, and physics of time—an age-old enigma that has captivated human thought for centuries.

Campus Presents its Research, Development, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship Model at Chilean Air Force Seminar

With the aim of strengthening strategic collaboration between academia and defense institutions, the University of Santiago, Chile, through its Vice-Rector's Office for Research, Innovation, and Creation (VRIIC), presented its institutional model for R&D&I&E at an innovation seminar held at the Chilean Air Force (FACH) Space Directorate.

The event brought together authorities, researchers, and professionals from both institutions to share experiences and explore opportunities for technological, strategic, and productive collaboration.

Felix Klein Center and Mineduc Launch Second Project to Close Math Learning Gaps

The closing ceremony for the first version of the Matemática en Ruta Program took place at the San Luis Elementary School in Maipú. The event served to symbolically deliver the Evolutionary Learning Networks (REAM) and promote the use of Elementary Teaching Situations, marking the completion of the program’s inaugural phase.

This initiative, jointly led by Usach and Mineduc, was established in 2023. It directly addresses the school system's urgent need to reduce learning gaps, particularly those exacerbated by the pandemic.

Pioneering Sustainable Development: Usach’s First Open Innovation Results

USACH’s Sinapsis platform, a hub for open innovation in sustainable development, recently brought its inaugural challenges to a close. Dubbed Usach Sostenible and Estación Futuro, these initiatives successfully mobilized the diverse talents of the university’s students, academics, graduates, and staff. The result? Usach-Technovation Girls Teams: Top National Tech Innovators

Promoting girls’ and adolescents’ engagement in technology and digital innovation, this program has empowered 210 girls aged 13-17 since its 2024 university inception. Working in teams, participants learn programming, business modeling, and app design, developing technological solutions that address the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 

VRIIC Concludes Impactful Open Science Workshop Series for University Community

The Vice-Rectorate for Research, Innovation and Creation (Vriic) successfully completed the series of workshops entitled “Open Access and Data: Complying with ANID and Dicyt Mandates,” developed during the first semester of 2025 by the Data, Statistics and Systems team.
